When Putin came to power in 1999, my first reaction was, oops, the Bond villain has been promoted. So yes, imo the resemblance is striking. However, perhaps a bit less so recently , due to Putin´s receding hairline and permanently changing stages of puffiness...

So yes, imo the resemblance is striking.

I am surprised the resemblance is not well mentioned.
